Roo and Joey

When I was at BYU-Hawaii, I became really good friends with a girl from Australia, Kerin. We haven't seen each other since we left BYUH and lost contact with each other quite a while ago. I have been trying to track her down for about a year. Anyway, I finally found her just as she and her family were about to move to Utah. She arrived last week and they are staying with us until they find a house.
It has been great catching up and seeing our kids play together. Our kids are close in age and get along great!

Kerin's family lived in Queensland, Australia, which is a very nice climate...they don't get snow! Anyway, her kids went out to play the other morning and came in freezing. It was chilly and they were so excited to use their new winter coats, hats, and gloves. It was so cute!

Bight Me Edward!

Ok, it is almost a week now since we saw Twilight...finally getting around to a post is no reflection on my opinion of the movie. I really enjoyed it. There is a lot missing from the book, but in the movie's defense, there is no way they could have gotten everything in the book in a 2 hour movie. Edward was just yummy and that is all that matters! I want to go see it again.
We went with a group of about 14 women from our ward. It was so much fun. We were all crazy and silly, which just added to the movie experience.

We went to dinner at Red Robin before the midnight showing. Good food and great friends!

Youth Program

Last night Kelti had the opportunity to go up to the LDS Conference Center in Salt Lake and be part of the filming of a new broadcast for the youth of the Church. The film is being made to promote the theme for the youth in 2009. It will be broadcast world wide in January.
Kelti came home so pumped up and excited about it. She loved being able to see the Church leaders and be with all the other youth there. The Conference Center holds about 21,000 people. Can you imagine that many youth and their leaders...crazy. She was about 7 rows from the front and cameras all around. Anyway, she had a great experience. I'm so glad that we live here in Utah so that my kids have these opportunities.

Happy Halloween

It's been a fun filled exciting day. We have carved pumpkins, parade and parties at school, and a party at a friends house. Kelti is a regular teenager now...off with friends at a party and trick or treating. Mitchell went out with his friends too. Kiana abandoned me for her other family that lives behind us. So for about half the night it was just Emma and me. Marcus stayed home and handed out candy (his usual job on this night). And Emma and I eventually went out with our friends. Believe it or not, Kiana pooped out before Emma, she just ran and ran! Here are some pics of the day's events.

Emma eating at the block party!

Hangin with my hippie friend!!

And my witchy sister...and I mean that in the nicest way!

Believe it or not, this is Mitchell!

Kiana & Emma

Emma with our pumpkins. Like I said, none of the others stayed around long enough for me to get pictures altogether.
And Kelti hasn't been home long enough for me to even take a picture of her. So I will have to add one later. Hopefully she has taken some.
HAPPY HAUNTING!!

Kids Update

Just a little update as to what our kids are up to...they keep me busy! Got to love 'em.

Kelti is now 14 and a Freshman in High School. That is a bit confusing as she still attends the Middle School (the High School is over populated). She will be going to a brand new High School next year. She is still dancing hula and has become a natural. You should see those hips! She is working hard at school and keeping almost straight A's (only 1 B).

Hula Performance at Utah Valley University Luau

Mitchell is growing up quickly. He is in his last year of Elementary school and loving being the oldest in the school. He has just finished his second year of Tackle Football and is now playing in a Basketball league. He loves his sports. This summer Mitchell started racing his dirt bike. He has wanted to do this for a long time...he's in seventh heaven!

Mitchell is #60

At the beginning of September, Mitchell spent a week with a friend and his family on a house boat on Lake Powell, UT. They had so much fun!

Kiana is in second grade. This summer she finally learned to ride a 2-wheeler. This took so long not because she couldn't, but simply we finally took the time to teach her, sad! She is taking hula also, but is not keen on performing. Which surprises us all. She's a sweet girl.

Emma is still home with me. She will go to Kindergarten next fall. She is a typical little girl, loves to play house. She has become very social and loves to be with her friends. My favorite time is our "huggles", but not so much in the middle of the night!! This summer, Emma became a little fish. She loves to go to the pool.

Happy Birthday Dear Emma!!

My baby turned 5 on Thursday. Wow, how time flies!! I am feeling old and sad that my baby is growing up. It is such a bitter sweet thing.
She became a big fan of High School Musical when the second one came out. She just loves Troy. It is hilarious to see her get all silly when he comes on the TV. She says, "Ahhhh, Troy!" with a heavy sigh. Way too cute. So with High School Musical 3 came out yesterday and we took her and 3 friends to see it. They were way too funny! The excitement and giddyness was too much. Just thought I would post a couple pics of the festivities.

Kelti even made a cake for Emma...High School Musical all the way.

For The Fun Of It

I just found a few fun items on other peoples blogs and thought I'd try them. They're good for a chuckle anyway! I'm definitely not sure about the Princess Aurora thing. I retook the quiz and changed a couple of answers that I was undecided on. I ended up as Ariel, "Headstrong and fiesty. You have a mind of your own that's full of romantic dreams about the world around you. Exploring exotic places is your ultimate dream, and you can be a little naive you'll realize that there is something to be gained from your family's wisdom." INTERESTING!
