Happy Halloween

It's been a fun filled exciting day. We have carved pumpkins, parade and parties at school, and a party at a friends house. Kelti is a regular teenager now...off with friends at a party and trick or treating. Mitchell went out with his friends too. Kiana abandoned me for her other family that lives behind us. So for about half the night it was just Emma and me. Marcus stayed home and handed out candy (his usual job on this night). And Emma and I eventually went out with our friends. Believe it or not, Kiana pooped out before Emma, she just ran and ran! Here are some pics of the day's events.

And my witchy sister...and I mean that in the nicest way!

Believe it or not, this is Mitchell!

Emma with our pumpkins. Like I said, none of the others stayed around long enough for me to get pictures altogether.
And Kelti hasn't been home long enough for me to even take a picture of her. So I will have to add one later. Hopefully she has taken some.
HAPPY HAUNTING!!

Kids Update

Just a little update as to what our kids are up to...they keep me busy! Got to love 'em.

Kelti is now 14 and a Freshman in High School. That is a bit confusing as she still attends the Middle School (the High School is over populated). She will be going to a brand new High School next year. She is still dancing hula and has become a natural. You should see those hips! She is working hard at school and keeping almost straight A's (only 1 B).

Hula Performance at Utah Valley University Luau

Mitchell is growing up quickly. He is in his last year of Elementary school and loving being the oldest in the school. He has just finished his second year of Tackle Football and is now playing in a Basketball league. He loves his sports. This summer Mitchell started racing his dirt bike. He has wanted to do this for a long time...he's in seventh heaven!

Mitchell is #60

At the beginning of September, Mitchell spent a week with a friend and his family on a house boat on Lake Powell, UT. They had so much fun!

Kiana is in second grade. This summer she finally learned to ride a 2-wheeler. This took so long not because she couldn't, but simply we finally took the time to teach her, sad! She is taking hula also, but is not keen on performing. Which surprises us all. She's a sweet girl.

Emma is still home with me. She will go to Kindergarten next fall. She is a typical little girl, loves to play house. She has become very social and loves to be with her friends. My favorite time is our "huggles", but not so much in the middle of the night!! This summer, Emma became a little fish. She loves to go to the pool.

Happy Birthday Dear Emma!!

My baby turned 5 on Thursday. Wow, how time flies!! I am feeling old and sad that my baby is growing up. It is such a bitter sweet thing.
She became a big fan of High School Musical when the second one came out. She just loves Troy. It is hilarious to see her get all silly when he comes on the TV. She says, "Ahhhh, Troy!" with a heavy sigh. Way too cute. So with High School Musical 3 came out yesterday and we took her and 3 friends to see it. They were way too funny! The excitement and giddyness was too much. Just thought I would post a couple pics of the festivities.

Kelti even made a cake for Emma...High School Musical all the way.

For The Fun Of It

I just found a few fun items on other peoples blogs and thought I'd try them. They're good for a chuckle anyway! I'm definitely not sure about the Princess Aurora thing. I retook the quiz and changed a couple of answers that I was undecided on. I ended up as Ariel, "Headstrong and fiesty. You have a mind of your own that's full of romantic dreams about the world around you. Exploring exotic places is your ultimate dream, and you can be a little naive you'll realize that there is something to be gained from your family's wisdom." INTERESTING!

Thoughtful and loving. Authority figures probably have been sheltering you all of your life. Thankfully you're a very tranquil person who is content with what life has given you, but secretly you want to know how the outside world works.

A Trip To The Farm

Yesterday I took the two little girls to Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point. They both love going there, petting and feeding the animals. It's a great place. Right now they have Halloween activities through out the park. We had some friends come with us and had a lot of fun.

Poor Bailey got surprised when the goat came up behind her and sniffed her head.

Where all children belong...just kidding! =)

Cub Scouts

I am currently working in the Cub Scout program in my Ward. Never in a million years would I have thought that I would like this job, let alone enjoy it. But I do! (Shhhh, don't tell anyone! I'll never get out!)
Last week for our activity, I cooked dinner with the boys. It was a lot of fun.

After making and eating tacos, I had a treat for the boys. We made trampoline ice cream. This is really simply and a ton of fun for the kids. You put all the ingredients in a freezer Ziploc bag and then put it in a larger Ziploc with ice and rock salt. Finally, jump on the tramp with it until it is frozen. Yummy!!!!

Good Times!!

For The Love of Turkey!

On Saturday, I went with a couple of friends to a turkey plant to buy a turkey for Thanksgiving and load up on ground turkey. Sounds like a crazy thing to do, but we did have fun. The lady working in the store must have thought we were nuts! "Those crazy city slicker! Getting all excited about turkey." But she was kind enough to bring out a 35 pound turkey for us to take a picture with. I know what your thinking....a picture with a turkey?! It was a big ol' bird!

Melanie, Stephanie & I with the 35 lb bird!

We did have a good time and we put a new definition to Girls Night Out. We had a great lunch at a diner called "One Man Band". The best part is I can home to a clean house. Marcus and the kids cleaned for me while I was gone. Gotta love 'em!!!!
Thanks for the pics Melanie!

Look-alike Meter

Ok, yesterday I got so excited about this blogging thing. Not sure if that is good or just simply pathetic?! Do I need to get a life? Anyway, I've always claimed that I didn't get any credit for my kids looks. They just look like their dad. That's not a bad thing. It would be nice to get some credit after carrying them for 9 months. My friend, Stella, did the Look-alike Meter with her twins so I thought I would give it a try.

I was surprised by the results. My kids look pretty much equally the same as Marcus and I. Which means that Marcus and I must look a lot alike. Is that scary?! All I can say is, it's a darn good thing that we are both so good looking!!!! lol!

Check out the results at the bottom of the blog.

A New Beginning

I have been on Facebook for some time. Everyone keeps telling me that I need to try blogging...so here I go. With living away from family and friends this is a great way to keep in touch. I love it!
